Durst Open House at Baker Labels Showcases Tau RSC 340 LED in Action

Our team welcomed over 40 visitors from the label and packaging industry to our Brentwood site for a Durst Open House event. Organised in partnership with Durst, the day focused on showcasing the capabilities of the new Durst Tau RSC 340 LED digital label press. We installed and integrated the Durst Tau into our production workflow in October last year.

Attendees included UK-based label and packaging producers, label material suppliers, and representatives from Hybrid Software, GMG Color, and ABG. Tom Baker opened the event with an introduction to our independent, family-run company. He spoke about our commitment to innovation and our company culture.

The Durst team then delivered a top-notch series of presentations:

Thomas Macina, Global Sales Director for Labels & Packaging, gave a strategic business update and outlined Durst’s vision for the future.
Martin Leitner, Head of Product Management, dived into how Durst is integrating AI into its technology and the exciting roadmap for product development.
Timo Schwarz, Digital Print Master, walked us through how Durst supports customers to boost productivity and seize new opportunities, both pre- and post-installation.

Durst Press Demo and Factory Tour

After a short break groups were given a press demonstration of the Durst Tau RSC highlighting its speed, quality, automation. This was followed by a behind-the-scenes guided tour of both Baker Labels and our flexible packaging division BakPac. We were also joined by James Brennan and Mark Hyde from A B Graphic who ran through key features of our series 3 Digicons.

Then it was over to our Technical Manager, Jamie Godson, who took centre stage to present how we’ve seamlessly integrated the press into our production systems.

The atmosphere throughout the day was relaxed, informative, and collaborative – everything we hoped it would be. Our team worked closely with Durst as a development partner to provide a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices across the industry. The event proved to be a great success and we truly appreciate the time and interest from everyone who attended.
