Are you a hands-on operator with a keen eye for quality and efficiency?
We’re looking for a Laminator Operative to join our busy production team at BakPac, part of the Bakers Group. In this role, you’ll be responsible for running and maintaining our thermal laminating machinery, ensuring high standards of production for our premium laminated packaging materials. Working closely with our production and operations teams, you’ll play a key role in keeping our processes smooth, efficient, and on schedule. Delivering quality that our customers can rely on.
Responsibilities include:
- Set up, operate, and monitor thermal laminating machinery to produce high-quality laminated materials.
- Adjust machine settings to meet production specifications and customer requirements.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure lamination meets required standards, including adhesion, appearance, and durability.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine issues, performing basic maintenance and reporting faults as necessary.
- Ensure raw materials (films, adhesives, and substrates) are correctly loaded and used efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain production schedules and minimise downtime.
- Follow health & safety guidelines and ensure the working area remains clean and organised.
- Maintain accurate production records and report on machine performance
Skills and Experience We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a strong mix of technical know-how, attention to detail, and teamwork. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Experience operating or maintaining laminating, printing, or packaging machinery (flexographic, digital, or similar).
- A good understanding of production environments and quality control processes.
- The ability to set up, adjust, and monitor machinery to meet specific production requirements.
- Confidence in identifying and resolving minor mechanical issues or faults.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of adhesion, appearance, and finish.
- A proactive approach to safety, cleanliness, and maintenance on the shop floor.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills, with a focus on teamwork and efficiency.
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet production schedules and support your colleagues when needed.
Previous experience in a printing, packaging, or manufacturing environment is highly desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
