Bakers Sponsors Aperture Robotics: Investing in Innovation, Community and the Future
We’re thrilled to announce that Bakers is now an official sponsor of Aperture Robotics, a young and ambitious robotics team competing in the global VEX Robotics programme. This is a completely new venture for us. One that taps into our passion for innovation and opens the door to exciting possibilities in technology, education and future product development.
Aperture Robotics is a Colchester-based group of students and young engineers designing, building and competing with robots in the fast-paced, challenge-driven world of VEX competitions. Their passion, creativity and drive reflect the same values we hold at Bakers – curiosity, problem-solving, and pushing boundaries.
Why This Matters to Us
While Bakers is best known for printing high-quality labels and flexible packaging, we’ve always had a strong technical foundation. From our state-of-the-art digital print technology to our in-house R&D team. Supporting Aperture Robotics isn’t just about backing a team. It’s about engaging with the kind of innovation that could shape the future of manufacturing, automation, and design.
This sponsorship is an exciting step for us into a new space and we’re curious to see where it could lead. Robotics, engineering, and STEM education have enormous crossover potential with our world. Especially when it comes to developing new processes, materials handling, or even automation techniques in label production.
More Than a Sponsorship
We’re proud to be able to support Aperture with funding and resources to help them access equipment, travel to competitions, and continue developing as a team. But as Alex from Aperture puts it:
“Bakers have provided us with an opportunity that amounts to so much more than a sponsorship. They are investing in young talent as well as the future of our community. With their backing, we can push our VEX team further into the realms of innovation, which we hope will inspire others to dive into STEM, robotics, and pursue their own ideas.”
We’re excited to follow their journey, cheer them on at competitions, and collaborate on shared opportunities for community engagement and technical learning.
