Bakers Wins Best Company to Work For at the Digital Labels & Packaging Awards 2026
Bakers is proud to announce that we have won Best Company to Work For at the Digital Labels & Packaging Awards 2026.
The award recognises the culture we work hard to build every day across Baker Labels, BakPac, Baker Materials and Sportstiks. It celebrates much more than the social side of work. It recognises the value of a safe, supportive and positive workplace where people feel listened to, encouraged and able to grow.
We were proud to be nominated alongside A4labels.com and Midland Regional Printers in this category
A people-first award for the whole Bakers team
At Bakers, everything starts with people. Always has.
We are an independent, family-run business, and we have grown significantly over recent years. However, we have worked hard to keep the close-knit, supportive feel that has always been part of the company.
The judges said:
“A standout and clear investor in its staff, environment and policies. A family business that clearly has at its heart its people. Honest authentic and integrity. A fantastic company to work for.”
That feedback means a great deal to us because it reflects the kind of business we want Bakers to be.
Why Bakers won Best Company to Work For
Being a great place to work is not about one policy, one event or one initiative. It is about how things feel day to day.
Do people feel supported? Do they feel safe? Do they feel able to speak up? Do they have the chance to learn, progress and do their best work?
Those questions shape the way we approach workplace culture at Bakers.
A safe and supportive workplace
A strong workplace culture starts with trust. We want people to feel comfortable raising issues, asking questions and suggesting improvements.
That includes regular communication, monthly 1-2-1s, health and safety walkrounds and a clear focus on maintaining a clean, safe and high-quality working environment.
It also means giving people the right tools and support to do their jobs well. In print and packaging, that matters. Quality depends on people who feel confident, capable and proud of the work they produce.
Wellbeing that works in real life
Wellbeing is also a big part of life at Bakers.
Our approach includes trained mental health first aiders, wellbeing workshops, on-site health checks, daily movement activities and a free on-site gym for all employees.
We also keep things human. From team events and Paws in Work days to staff challenges and social activities, we want people to enjoy being part of the Bakers team.
Training, ambition and recognition
Development is central to our culture. Through training, apprenticeships and the Bakers Academy, we aim to give people real opportunities to build skills and progress.
As the business has grown, especially through the expansion of BakPac, new opportunities have opened up across production, operations, technical roles and leadership.
Recognition matters too. We celebrate long service, personal achievements, training milestones, birthdays, weddings, new babies and charity efforts. These moments help people feel valued, not just as employees, but as individuals.
Why our culture matters to customers
A great workplace does not only benefit our team. It benefits our customers too.
When people feel supported and motivated, they do better work. They communicate more clearly. They take pride in the details. They care about the final product.
That is vital in label and packaging production, where quality, reliability and consistency matter every day.
Our culture helps us produce the high-quality labels, pouches and packaging our customers rely on.
