Team Bakers are supporting men’s health by taking part in Movember

Bakers is taking on Movember to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. Charity has always been a huge part of Bakers and this month we have recruited a big group of employees to take part.

Joining the Mo-vement

Team Bakers members are growing moustaches to help create conversation and show support for Men’s health. No head starts are allowed so at the beginning of the month the Bakers Mo Bros were freshly shaven and ready to ‘Grow a Mo’ Mo Sistas or Mo Bros who didn’t fancy growing a Mo are joining in too by ‘Moving for Movember‘. The challenge is to walk or run more than 60km over the month. That’s 60km for the 60 men we lose to suicide each hour, every hour across the world.

Men’s health is in crisis

Men are dying on average 5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.
