Bakers Shortlisted in Two Categories at Label Industry Global Awards

We are delighted to be announced as finalists in the Label Industry Global Awards 2023 in two categories: “Converter of the Year” and “Rising Star”.

Converter of the Year

As an independent, family-owned company we are trusted for our ethical standards, innovative label solutions, versatility, fast turnarounds, and high quality. Bakers employs over 100 staff across four divisions and operates from a 50,000 sq/ft facility in Brentwood Essex. We value staff wellbeing, training and development and make conscious efforts to close the skills gaps within the industry.

2023 is our 50th year in business so to receive this award this year would be a fantastic acknowledgement from the label industry.

The final award category is for converter of the year. The nominees are UK-based Baker Label, Singapore-based Honsen Pte Ltd and Italy-based Pilot Italia. The winner should demonstrate encouragement of a diverse and inclusive work environment, development programs for employees, contribution to community initiatives, sustainability programs within the company and the introduction of innovative products or programs for end users. Rising Star Award

Our double entry for the Rising Star awards sees our Baker brothers, Harry and Tom Baker, shortlisted together.

The shortlisted nominations for the rising star award are Tommy Schouten of Geostick and – in the first joint entry in the awards’ history – brothers Harry and Tom Baker of Baker Labels. Nominees should have a record that reflects ongoing, exceptional and growing contributions to the label industry and clear potential for future levels of leadership and responsibility. Tom and Harry Baker

As a duo they bring both an exciting dynamic and a necessary balance that compliments each other and the Bakers business. At Bakers, Harry and Tom have entirely different roles. Harry is all about sales and operations within the flexible packaging division, BakPac, while Tom’s focus is on finance and development of staff and business. But they share a common energy, drive and intelligence that is recognised throughout the company and beyond into the wider print industry. There is absolutely no doubt that both are set to play key roles in the future of digital label and packaging printing.
